If you're looking for high performance for tasks like intensive engineering, 3D rendering, or gaming, and don't mind a heavier and thicker laptop with a shorter battery life, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X is the better choice despite being more expensive. Alternatively, the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 is more affordable, portable, and has a longer battery life, making it well-suited for general use and offers a touchscreen, but it has less powerful components which may not be ideal for demanding applications. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X, while offering vibrant colors and sharp images due to its high-resolution panel, falls short in gaming and 3D applications due to its lower refresh rate, which can make fast-paced visuals less smooth. The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 provides a crisp and bright display suitable for general tasks and detailed engineering work, thanks to its respectable color coverage that ensures precise color representation. However, similar to the Gigabyte, its refresh rate isn't ideal for gaming, where fast refresh rates are crucial for a seamless visual experience.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14 compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
"The Lenovo Slim Pro 7 is an attractive, portable laptop that’s ideal if you need a combination of CPU and GPU performance. It also nails the fundamentals with solid connectivity, an enjoyable keyboard, a large touchpad, and top-notch webcam. Display quality is a weakness, but it’s an acceptable compromise for the laptop’s extremely competitive $1,199 MSRP. The Slim Pro 7 is a versatile, affordable laptop and hard to beat for the price."
