The Gigabyte Aorus 15X, although often less expensive, offers a higher resolution display and better graphics card, favoring performance especially for 3D, machine learning, and gaming tasks. Despite this, it has a slightly less portability due to its heavier weight. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 5, which tends to be more expensive, has a high refresh rate screen suitable for fast-paced games but carries less onboard storage and a less powerful processor, potentially affecting tasks like video editing or engineering simulations. If battery life is a concern, the Aorus 15X lasts longer on a typical use charge. Choose based on your top priorities: if it's performance and longer use between charges, the Aorus 15X is favorable; for a little extra cost, the Aorus 5 offers portability and a high refresh rate display, at the expense of storage space and processing power. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 5 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X, with its superior resolution and brightness, offers a crisp and vibrant display that enhances the user experience for everyday tasks and professional engineering work by providing clearer visuals and accurate color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is critical, the lower refresh rate may result in less fluid gameplay compared to models with higher refresh rates. The Aorus 5, while also providing adequate resolution and color accuracy for general use and engineering design tasks, similarly falls short for gaming and 3D work due to its refresh rate not meeting the high standards required by these applications.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and the Gigabyte Aorus 5 compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
