The Aero 5, being less expensive, offers great visuals with an OLED display and higher resolution, making it superior for creative tasks like photo and video editing. However, it is less suitable for fast-paced gaming due to its lower refresh rate. The Aorus 5, while pricier, has a high refresh rate IPS screen beneficial for gaming but lacks the Aero's display colors and resolution, which might make it less appealing for color-sensitive work. Both laptops are equivalent in processor and RAM, giving similar performance in general use and engineering applications, but battery life on the Aero is better, enhancing portability for everyday tasks. The Gigabyte Aero 5 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 5 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the Gigabyte Aorus 5 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
When comparing the Gigabyte Aero 5 and Aorus 5 for general use, the Aero's superior panel type, higher resolution, and brightness make for a more vibrant and clearer display. For engineering and design tasks, the Aero 5's broader color gamuts, including DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, ensure more accurate color representation, which is crucial for this type of work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, despite its shortcomings in refresh rate, which is paramount for smooth visuals, the Aero 5 still falls behind due to the lower priority of its resolution and panel type for these specific tasks.

How the Gigabyte Aero 5 and the Gigabyte Aorus 5 compare to other laptops
"It is unfortunate that the Gigabyte AERO notebook series have seem to lost its charm, as it’s not exactly any much different from the AORUS series now. Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
