The Gigabyte Aero 5 is less expensive and features a high-resolution OLED screen, which is excellent for color-critical work and media consumption. It’s also equipped with a newer main processor and a more powerful GPU, making it suitable for demanding engineering tasks, 3D projects, and gaming. However, its battery life is shorter, and it may be less portable due to its weight. The Gigabyte Aorus 17G, on the other hand, has a premium build, larger screen size with a high refresh rate that benefits gaming, and a better keyboard but comes at a higher price point, with slightly dated hardware and a standard IPS screen which might not be as vibrant as the Aero 5's OLED but still offers good visuals and response for gaming and general use. The Gigabyte Aero 5 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 17G for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the Gigabyte Aorus 17G has a better screen for gaming and AI.
For general use, the Gigabyte Aero 5's screen excels due to its high resolution and brightness, which offer crisp and clear visuals for everyday tasks; whereas the Gigabyte Aorus 17G provides a sufficiently good but not as superior experience. In engineering and design, screen color accuracy is crucial, and the Gigabyte Aero 5 stands out with its wider color gamuts, ensuring more precise color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast motion is common, a high refresh rate is essential; both the Aero 5 and Aorus 17G fall short in this aspect, potentially leading to less fluid on-screen motion.

How the Gigabyte Aero 5 and the Gigabyte Aorus 17G compare to other laptops
"It is unfortunate that the Gigabyte AERO notebook series have seem to lost its charm, as it’s not exactly any much different from the AORUS series now. Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook."
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
