The Dell Alienware m15 R7 is good for gaming and AI, while the MSI Thin GF63 is only fair.
The Dell Alienware m15 R7 stands out in gaming and 3D applications with its powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and high screen refresh rate of 240 frames per second, offering smoother visuals and better responsiveness for fast-paced games. On the other hand, the MSI Thin GF63 is also equipped for gaming and 3D work with a capable Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU, though its screen refresh rate is lower at 144 frames per second, which is still sufficient for most gaming scenarios but might not be as fluid as the Alienware during very fast action sequences.

The Dell Alienware m15 R7 has a better screen than the MSI Thin GF63 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Dell Alienware m15 R7 offers a high-resolution display with excellent brightness and panel quality suitable for everyday tasks and professional design work, providing crisp images and vibrant colors essential in engineering and design due to its extensive color gamut coverage. However, its lower refresh rate is less optimal for gaming and 3D work, where fluid motion and fast screen updates are crucial. The MSI Thin GF63, on the other hand, provides satisfactory performance for both general use and design tasks but also lacks in refresh rate, leaving it less desirable for 3D applications and gaming where smoother visual experiences are a priority.

How the Dell Alienware m15 R7 and the MSI Thin GF63 compare to other laptops
"The Alienware M15 offers solid gaming and leading endurance. It makes the most of its CPU and GPU while delivering stellar battery life for a gaming laptop. Opening the lid presents a full-size keyboard with honeycomb cutouts above it on the deck. An oblong RBG lightning element surrounds the entire rear panel and can be color-synced with the other lights on the laptop. There’s not a lot to dislike about the M15 Its productivity performance lagged in some areas, particularly in the storage benchmark, and it’s a bit heavy. Alienware has a clear winner here with the M15 based on its strong overall performance and endurance."
"The MSI GF63 Thin 11SC can be an admirable value for gamers and power users on a minimal budget. For just $599 as reviewed in its base model, its Intel Core i5 H-class processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics perform much better than low-wattage CPUs and integrated graphics. That said, this is a light-class gaming laptop. Low scores in our demanding gaming benchmarks indicate using lower visual-quality settings will be required for playable performance."
