The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is a compact and stylish choice with an exceptional OLED screen, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for media consumption and general use. Its performance is solid for everyday tasks and light engineering work, with a dedicated GPU that provides a boost in graphics-related activities. However, its smaller screen size and lower battery life might not be ideal for extended use away from a power outlet. On the other hand, the LG Gram 17 boasts a larger, high-resolution display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is excellent for productivity and multitasking. It's also equipped with a more powerful processor and double the RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and better performance in more demanding applications, including engineering software. The LG Gram 17 is also lighter than one might expect for its size, enhancing its portability despite the larger screen. However, its IPS display, while still good, doesn't quite match the vividness of the ASUS's OLED, and the lack of a dedicated GPU means it's less suited for intensive gaming or 3D rendering. In summary, if you prioritize a superior display for general use and some light gaming within a compact form factor, the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED is the way to go. But if you need a larger screen for productivity, excellent battery life, and superior multitasking performance, the LG Gram 17 is the better option, especially for tasks that benefit from more screen real estate and RAM.
