If you prioritize a high-resolution OLED display, larger storage, and higher performance for tasks such as 3D modeling or engineering software, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED would be suitable, though it comes at a higher price and a bit more weight. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 is more affordable and lighter, making it easy to carry, but it offers lower storage capacity and screen quality, and its performance is more suited for general use rather than intensive tasks. The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED boasts an OLED panel that offers vibrant colors and deep blacks, which makes it ideal for engineering and design tasks that require color accuracy, though its lower refresh rate may not be as suitable for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key. The MSI Modern 14, with its fair screen quality, provides a balanced display for general use and productivity, but might not impress those needing exceptionally accurate color representation or involved in fast-paced gaming. For gaming and 3D use, where higher refresh rates matter, both laptops might fall short compared to models specifically engineered for those purposes.

"The Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED excels as a capable work machine at an affordable price. It offers commendable performance, thanks to its 12th Gen Intel chip, delivers quality on-screen entertainment with its 15.6-inch OLED display, and can (kind of) get you through a full day of work. Oh, and its special Asus Antibacterial Guard is a nice touch for those who like a clean laptop."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
