The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED offers a higher quality display, larger storage, and a more powerful processor which makes it well-suited for tasks that require high color accuracy and processing power. However, the Gigabyte A5, with its dedicated Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card, is better for gaming and 3D rendering. The A5 is heavier and has a shorter battery life than the ASUS, so it's less portable. If you prefer gaming or 3D tasks, the A5 may be a better fit, but the ASUS is a more versatile option for general use and creative tasks that benefit from its OLED screen. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is very good for engineering and design, while the Gigabyte A5 is good.
The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is well-suited for engineering and design due to its high-performance CPU, ample RAM, integrated GPU, and superior OLED screen quality, though it may lack slightly in portability and keyboard quality. While the Gigabyte A5 also excels in handling engineering tasks with a capable CPU, plenty of RAM, and a dedicated high-quality GPU, it offers a lower resolution screen but gains an edge in gaming due to hardware ray tracing and DLSS capabilities, albeit with a trade-off in weight and screen sharpness.

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED stands out due to its OLED panel that offers vibrant colors and deeper blacks, alongside a high resolution and brightness that enhance visibility and crispness of content. In engineering and design tasks, the same Olivobook's OLED screen benefits from wider color coverage, which means it can display a broader range of colors accurately, essential for precise work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the Gigabyte A5, despite having only good screen quality, may be more suitable than the ASUS because it likely has a higher refresh rate which is crucial for reducing motion blur and providing a more fluid visual experience.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Gigabyte A5 to be good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED's very high-resolution OLED screen and integrated Iris Xe graphics make it suitable for gaming and 3D tasks, though dedicated GPUs like the Nvidia RTX 3060 in the Gigabyte A5 offer superior performance, especially with the higher screen refresh rate, which is better for fast-paced games. While the ASUS has a more vibrant screen, the Gigabyte's superior GPU and refresh rate will generally provide a more fluid and responsive gaming experience.

How the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED and the Gigabyte A5 compare to other laptops
"The Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED excels as a capable work machine at an affordable price. It offers commendable performance, thanks to its 12th Gen Intel chip, delivers quality on-screen entertainment with its 15.6-inch OLED display, and can (kind of) get you through a full day of work. Oh, and its special Asus Antibacterial Guard is a nice touch for those who like a clean laptop."
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
