Given your options between the ASUS Vivobook S 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17", consider the ASUS if you prioritize a balance between performance and portability. With its more powerful processor, better integrated graphics, and a larger storage capacity, it is well-suited for more intensive engineering workloads or if you occasionally dabble in 3D or machine learning tasks, though at a higher price. The larger RAM in the ASUS also suggests it can handle more applications at once without slowing down. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad offers greater screen size, which can be ideal for seeing more on-screen content, possibly enhancing engineering or general use work, but it is less portable due to its larger form factor. It is also budget-friendly and provides decent performance for everyday tasks, but might not hold up as well under more demanding applications. Both laptops boast similar battery lives and durable designs but differ in weight, with the ASUS being slightly lighter and thus easier to carry. Choose Lenovo if you are watching your budget and are fine with a larger laptop that offers good general-use capabilities without the need for high computing power. Give Feedback

How the ASUS Vivobook S 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
