If you prioritize performance for tasks such as intensive engineering or creative work, the ASUS Vivobook S 15, with its higher-end processor and graphics, larger screen, and better display resolution, would be a better choice despite being more expensive. However, for basic tasks like web browsing, document editing, and streaming, the HP Stream 14 is significantly more affordable and offers portability with its lighter weight and smaller size, although you'll sacrifice some performance and have a lower-quality display. The decision ultimately rests on whether the improved capabilities of the ASUS justify the higher cost for your specific needs. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Mario Petzold | February 2023
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."

PCMag

Zachary Cuevas | November 2021
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
