The ASUS Vivobook S 15 is less expensive and offers solid performance for general use, with a decent screen size and battery life that makes it suitable for everyday portability. However, if you require a laptop for intensive gaming or tasks such as 3D rendering and machine learning, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G, despite being more expensive and less portable due to its larger size and weight, includes a high-performance GPU, better screen refresh rate, and is specifically designed to handle these demanding applications. The tradeoff is between cost and everyday use versus performance for specialized, resource-intensive tasks. Give Feedback

Mario Petzold | February 2023
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2021
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
