The ASUS Vivobook S 15 offers longer battery life, better portability, and a lower price, making it a good fit for general use and carrying around. However, the Dell G15 5520, while more expensive and heavier, provides superior performance for 3D, machine learning tasks, gaming, and engineering, thanks to its advanced graphics card and stronger processor. The Dell also has a higher refresh rate display beneficial for gaming, though both laptops have 15.6-inch IPS screens. So, if budget and portability are key, the ASUS is a solid choice; however, if your priority is high-performance tasks, the Dell might be worth the extra cost and weight. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 is very good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook S 15 is good.
The ASUS Vivobook S 15, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and Vega 8 GPU, offers solid performance with a great balance of screen quality for general engineering and design tasks, while emphasizing lighter weight for better portability. In contrast, the Dell G15 5520 steps up the performance significantly with an Intel i7 CPU and powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, making it highly suitable for more demanding engineering scenarios, but it is heavier and thus less portable.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook S 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
For general use, a laptop with a bright, high-resolution display and an IPS panel, like the one on the Dell G15 5520, will offer clearer and sharper images, making it favorable over the ASUS Vivobook S 15. When it comes to engineering and design tasks that require accurate color reproduction, the Dell's coverage of wider color gamuts becomes crucial, thus giving it an edge over the ASUS. However, both the ASUS Vivobook S 15 and the Dell G15 5520 provide poor experiences for gaming and 3D due to lower refresh rates, which can lead to less smooth visuals during fast-paced scenes.

How the ASUS Vivobook S 15 and the Dell G15 5520 compare to other laptops
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
