The ASUS Vivobook 16X is positioned at a lower midrange price and offers better performance and a higher build quality, which may be more suitable for intensive engineering tasks and multitasking. However, it is heavier and larger, making it less portable compared to the HP 15" Laptop. The HP is a budget-friendly option with decent performance suitable for general use and less demanding tasks, as well as offering better portability due to its lighter weight. Both laptops have comparable battery life, but you'll have to consider the tradeoffs between price, performance, build quality, and portability to determine which is best for your specific needs. The ASUS Vivobook 16X is very good for engineering and design, while the HP 15" Laptop is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is superior for engineering and design because it has a more powerful CPU and GPU, more RAM, and a higher quality screen which are vital for demanding tasks and visual accuracy. In contrast, the HP 15" Laptop offers less powerful hardware and a lower quality display which makes it less suitable for intensive tasks, though it may offer better portability due to being lighter.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers a sharper picture with greater detail and vibrancy suited for engineering tasks due to its higher resolution and better color accuracy, making it more appealing for tasks that demand precision and color fidelity. On the other hand, its lower refresh rate is less optimal for 3D applications and gaming, where fluid motion is key. The HP 15" Laptop provides a fair compromise for everyday use and design work, but its screen capabilities don't excel in any particular area, reflecting a balance between cost and performance.

"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
