If you need a laptop with better performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the ASUS Vivobook 16X is superior. It's more affordable and offers solid engineering performance along with better battery life. However, it is relatively less portable due to its size and weight. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 17G, while more expensive and with an older CPU and GPU, provides a slightly higher battery capacity and has a notably better build quality, a higher quality keyboard, and a larger screen, but with lower resolution and pixel density. The Aorus 17G is also heavier and less portable. Choose the Vivobook if price and performance are paramount, or the Aorus if you prioritize screen size and build over portability and cost. Tech Critter

Kok Kee | February 2023
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."

NotebookCheck

Sascha Mölck | June 2021
"The Aorus 17G isn't among the top RTX 3080 laptops due to its relatively low TGP of 105 watts. The device's gaming performance is average for an RTX 3080. For maximum performance, competitors like the Lenovo Legion 7 or the Alienware m17 R4 are recommended With the Aorus 17G, Gigabyte delivers a well-rounded gaming laptop. However, the device generates a high noise level. Throttling is not an issue. The CPU and GPU can develop their performance uniformly. Nevertheless, the device produces a lot of noise under load - more than many competitors."
