If you prioritize performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering software, the ASUS Vivobook 16X would suit you well with its powerful processor and advanced graphics card. However, it's more expensive and heavier, which could impact portability. On the other hand, if you prefer a more budget-friendly option that's lighter for easier carrying around and suitable for everyday tasks like browsing, document editing, and streaming videos, the Gateway 14.1" could be sufficient. The tradeoff is that the Gateway has significantly lower storage capacity and memory, which may slow you down if you run multiple applications simultaneously or work on complex tasks. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is good for gaming and AI, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X outshines the Gateway 14.1" in gaming and 3D tasks due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card and high screen refresh rate, whereas the Gateway's Intel UHD Graphics 600 is much less capable and its standard refresh rate limits the smoothness of visuals. Additionally, the Vivobook's better CPU and screen quality contribute to a superior experience in demanding applications compared to the Gateway's entry-level components.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is very good for engineering and design, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X excels in engineering and design due to its robust CPU, ample RAM, powerful GPU, and high-quality display, which are crucial for demanding software applications, whereas the Gateway 14.1" falls short with a basic CPU, limited RAM, weaker integrated graphics, and a lower-quality screen that cannot handle intensive tasks as effectively. Although the Gateway is more portable and quieter, these advantages are outweighed by its inadequacies in performance and screen quality for engineering and design work.

"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
