The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers good performance for general use and is less expensive, providing a larger screen but is heavier and less portable than the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo. If you prioritize a touch screen, higher resolution display, and more portable design, and don't mind paying more, the MSI model could be preferable. It also has a better battery capacity, color coverage for professional photo editing, and is lighter, making it more suitable for portability and use on the go. Consider the Vivobook if you're looking for a cost-effective option for everyday tasks and casual use, and the Summit E14 if you need higher portability and better screen quality for professional tasks. The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo and ASUS Vivobook 16 are both good for engineering and design, though the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo is somewhat better.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, with its AMD Ryzen processor and integrated Vega 8 graphics, is geared towards engineering and design due to its large 16-inch screen and ample RAM, but its screen resolution and color space coverage are modest compared to the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo. The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo, while having a smaller 14-inch touchscreen display, boasts a higher resolution, wider color gamut for precise color work, superior speakers, and a more portable design, alongside an Intel CPU and Iris Xe graphics that are well-suited for engineering tasks.

The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 16's average resolution and brightness provide an acceptable viewing experience for everyday tasks, but its color coverage may not be wide enough for precision required in engineering and design work, and its standard refresh rate limits the smoothness needed for high-end gaming or 3D applications. On the other hand, the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo boasts higher resolution and brightness, making it better for both general use and professional design where fine detail and accurate color representation are critical; however, like the Vivobook, it still falls short for gaming and 3D content due to a refresh rate that isn't geared towards those high-motion environments. Overall, the MSI is superior for tasks that demand visual accuracy and detail, but neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D work where fast refresh rates are key for optimal performance.

The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo and ASUS Vivobook 16 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 utilizes an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU with Vega 8 graphics, which provides fair gaming performance but may not handle the most demanding 3D tasks smoothly. The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo, on the other hand, is equipped with an Intel Iris Xe GPU and has a higher-resolution touchscreen, offering solid performance for casual gaming and 3D applications, but neither laptop offers high screen refresh rates or top-tier graphics units required for intensive gaming or advanced 3D work.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The MSI Summit E14 Flip convertible review: a legit alternative to HP, Dell or Lenovo. Instead of taking the 13-inch Summit E13 Flip and simply enlarging it for a 14-inch form factor, the Summit E14 Flip is the full chassis redesign we've been looking for. It loses some of the golden trims of its smaller sibling, but the gains in rigidity and build quality are arguably worth it especially from a professional standpoint where reliability takes priority. It doesn't quite feel as strong as the HP Spectre just yet, but it's certainly getting close."
