The ASUS Vivobook 16 is significantly less expensive but offers solid performance for general use with good battery life and is lighter, which makes it more portable. However, the MSI Stealth GS77 has a more powerful processor, better graphics capability, and more RAM, suited for intensive tasks in 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering; its higher resolution and refresh rate also make it superior for gaming and other high-performance applications. It has a larger screen and longer battery life but is heavier, leading to a lower portability score. Keep in mind that the MSI is also significantly more expensive. Give Feedback

The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook 16 is good.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers a balance of features with decent screen quality, portability, and battery life that align well with general use; however, the MSI Stealth GS77 provides a higher RAM capacity, a more powerful CPU, and superior screen resolution and color coverage, justifying its distinction as very good for general use but with less portability due to a larger screen and heavier build. While both laptops are equipped for varied tasks, the MSI's higher-end specs may appeal to users needing more intensive computing performance at the expense of easier carrying and longer battery life, making it less suitable for those prioritizing on-the-go usage.

The MSI Stealth GS77 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the MSI Stealth GS77 offers a sharper image and brighter display which enhances the overall visual experience, while the ASUS Vivobook 16 provides adequate clarity but may not be as vivid. When tackling engineering and design tasks, the MSI's wider color gamut enables more precise color work, an advantage the Vivobook 16 lacks, potentially making it less suitable for color-critical applications. However, both laptops have limitations for 3D gaming due to their lower refresh rates, impacting smoothness and responsiveness despite their adequate resolution and panel types.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
