If you prioritize a better battery life and a lighter, more compact laptop, the Lenovo Yoga 6 is preferable. It also has a touchscreen, which the ASUS Vivobook 16 doesn't provide. On the other hand, if you need more storage and don't mind a larger screen, the ASUS Vivobook 16 may suit you better. Both laptops have similar performance capabilities for general use, engineering, and machine learning tasks, as they share the same processor and integrated graphics. Neither is ideal for intensive gaming, and both are in the lower midrange price bracket. Remember, the Yoga 6's higher screen resolution may provide a sharper image despite its smaller size. The Lenovo Yoga 6 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use, where panel type, resolution, and brightness play crucial roles, the ASUS Vivobook 16 and Lenovo Yoga 6 both provide satisfactory displays with acceptable levels of clarity and visibility, neither excelling nor failing in this aspect. When it comes to engineering and design, the Lenovo Yoga 6 stands out with better color accuracy and a wider range of colors, which are crucial for detailed and precise visual work, whereas the ASUS Vivobook's color range falls short for these specialized tasks. In contrast, neither laptop is suited for 3D applications or gaming, as both lack high refresh rates and the ideal resolutions and panel types required for the smoothest and most immersive visual experiences in these demanding areas.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 and Lenovo Yoga 6 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Lenovo Yoga 6 both offer fair gaming and 3D performance because they share the same GPU and screen refresh rate, which are critical for these tasks. The ASUS Vivobook 16 and Lenovo Yoga 6 are both good for engineering and design.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, with a larger screen and dedicated number pad, caters well to engineering and design tasks that often require more screen real estate and data entry, but its size and weight make it less portable than the convertible Lenovo Yoga 6, which offers a touchscreen and better portability for flexible use in various environments, though with a smaller display that might be less ideal for detailed design work. Both laptops are equipped with similar CPUs and integrated GPUs that handle engineering applications competently, but the Vivobook's slightly higher screen resolution and quality may be more appealing for design purposes, while the Yoga's superior speaker quality and quieter operation can enhance multimedia experiences.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Lenovo Yoga 6 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The AMD R7-7730U in the Lenovo Yoga 6 13 provides a suitable answer to the limited cooling capabilities of a convertible - especially in tablet mode. It draws high computing power from a comparatively limited power supply so that less heat has to be dissipated at the same time."
