If you prioritize gaming performance and advanced visual tasks, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 with its dedicated RTX graphics card stands out; however, it's heavier and less portable than the ASUS Vivobook 16. The Vivobook offers a better balance for general use and has a longer battery life, making it more suitable for those who need to work on-the-go. The Lenovo tends to be more expensive but is better for tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning. The Vivobook, more budget-friendly, still performs well for general use and some engineering applications, though not as powerfully as the Lenovo for graphics-intensive work. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The ASUS Vivobook 16's display has adequate resolution and brightness for common tasks and engineering work, but its color range isn't wide enough for high-end design tasks and its lower refresh rate detracts from the smooth visuals needed in gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 offers better brightness and a sharper image suitable for both general and engineering/design use, and its color accuracy is more reliable for professional work, but like the ASUS, its refresh rate is not optimized for the fast-paced action in gaming and 3D environments. Overall, both laptops have screens that can manage everyday and professional tasks well, but gamers and 3D creators should look for options with higher refresh rates to match their specialized needs.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
