The ASUS Vivobook 16 is less expensive, has more storage, and is great for general use with its larger battery offering more typical usage hours. It's also marginally lighter, enhancing portability. However, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has a more powerful graphics card, higher resolution and refresh rate display, making it better suited for 3D rendering, engineering, and gaming; its keyboard is also of higher quality, but this comes with a slightly higher price and less storage capacity. Consider the ASUS if affordability and long battery life for everyday tasks are priorities, or choose the Lenovo if you need better performance for graphics-intensive applications and can handle a higher cost and less storage. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
If you prioritize screen aesthetics and detail for activities like browsing and document editing, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro with its good resolution and brightness could be more visually pleasing compared to the ASUS Vivobook 16. For engineering and design work where accurate color reproduction matters, the IdeaPad 5 Pro's better color gamut coverage helps ensure that designs are true to life, which is less of a strong suit for the Vivobook. However, neither the Vivobook nor the IdeaPad are ideal for gaming and 3D work where higher refresh rates are crucial; both offer poor gaming display performance due to their lower refresh rates despite having adequate resolution and panel types.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro turns out a successful all-rounder that, aside from 3D applications, always strikes a good or very good figure. This begins with the elegant metal case that isn't particularly light but fairly robust, giving a high-quality impression. The input devices are also better than those of many competitors. Both the keyboard and the touchpad are attractive and comfortable. In addition, the performance of the Ryzen 5 6600HS is easily able to keep up with the Intel competitors."
