The ASUS Vivobook 16, being more expensive, likely offers superior performance, making it ideal for tasks like 3D modeling, machine learning, and gaming. It may also have a larger screen, which is better for multitasking and multimedia but can make it less portable. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" is likely more affordable, with a focus on basics, which may suit everyday tasks such as browsing and office applications. It's probably lighter and more compact, favoring mobility but may not handle intensive tasks as well. Consider what you prioritize: performance and screen size at a higher cost with the ASUS, or affordability and portability with the Lenovo. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 provides a better gaming and 3D experience than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" because it features a more capable integrated GPU in the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Vega 8, which outperforms the Intel UHD Graphics 600 in the IdeaPad. Although both have the same screen refresh rate, the Vivobook's superior GPU, along with its better CPU and higher screen resolution, contribute to smoother and more visually appealing gameplay.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, with its more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, higher amount of RAM, and superior integrated Vega 8 GPU, along with a larger, higher-resolution IPS screen, is far better suited for resource-intensive engineering and design tasks than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14", which has a basic Intel Celeron CPU, less RAM, a weaker integrated GPU, and a smaller, lower-resolution TN screen. Portability and operating noise are less of a concern for such tasks, but the IdeaPad does have a slight edge in these areas due to its smaller size and fanless operation, though this comes at the cost of performance suitability for engineering applications.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS Vivobook 16 offers adequate resolution and brightness, making it a viable option for day-to-day activities and multimedia consumption, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1’s lower quality display may not be as satisfying for general tasks or media viewing. When considering engineering and design tasks, which require precise color representation, the ASUS Vivobook 16 provides fair color reproduction capabilities necessary for these tasks, whereas the Lenovo IdeaPad falls short in delivering the necessary color accuracy. Meanwhile, gamers and 3D professionals would find the ASUS Vivobook 16's refresh rate limiting for smooth visuals, though it still performs better than the Lenovo IdeaPad, which would struggle to meet the demands of modern 3D applications.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The IdeaPad 1 14 is a simple machine, but it’s well-designed and has nearly everything you’d expect from a no-nonsense laptop that allows you to check emails and get schoolwork or other light tasks done with relative ease. A "true" 128GB SSD (as opposed to an eMMC drive) and a roomy 14-inch full HD display are arguably the star attractions, with the comfortable keyboard and reasonably modern styling playing important backup roles."
