If you prioritize a larger screen and more storage space and can accept a heavier and thicker laptop with lower battery life for a lower price, the Asus Vivobook 16 is a suitable choice. However, if you prefer a lighter and thinner laptop with a smaller screen but superior battery life, and you're okay with paying more and having less storage space, the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" would be a better fit. The HP Dragonfly Pro also has a touchscreen and scores higher in portability as well as battery life, making it more suitable for frequent travelers or users who are always on the go. Give Feedback

The HP Dragonfly Pro 14" and ASUS Vivobook 16 are both good for engineering and design, though the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" is somewhat better.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U CPU and Vega 8 GPU, offers a larger 16-inch screen with satisfactory resolution and color coverage, making it suitable for engineering and design tasks, but it is heavier and has a shorter battery life compared to the HP Dragonfly Pro 14. The HP Dragonfly Pro, also with a competitive AMD Ryzen 7 7736U CPU and Radeon 680M GPU, delivers greater portability due to its lighter weight and longer battery life, plus it has a smaller, but higher quality touchscreen display and superior speaker quality, which might be more appealing for presentations and on-the-go usage.

The HP Dragonfly Pro 14" has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, with fair screen quality, provides satisfactory resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, yet it may not offer the wide color gamuts needed for precision in engineering and design. The HP Dragonfly Pro 14", featuring a higher quality display, ensures sharper images and more accurate colors, making it suitable for professionals in creative fields, but both fall short for gaming and 3D applications due to their lower refresh rates, limiting the smoothness and responsiveness in high-paced scenarios. Despite these limitations, either laptop can handle general use and engineering tasks well, but serious gamers and 3D artists would benefit from looking elsewhere.

The HP Dragonfly Pro 14" and ASUS Vivobook 16 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 and the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" are fair for gaming and 3D because they both have integrated GPUs, the Vivobook with AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Vega 8 and the Dragonfly with AMD Radeon 680M, which provide moderate graphics performance suitable for less demanding games and applications. However, their modest screen refresh rates of 60Hz and good screen quality with resolutions of 1920 x 1200 may limit the gaming experience compared to laptops specially designed for gaming with more powerful dedicated GPUs and higher refresh rates.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the HP Dragonfly Pro 14" compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"I’d say that the HP Dragonfly Pro checks off most of the boxes for this freelancer. It feels nice to use, is zippy and responsive, has great speakers, and even has a relatively sane price. Although it’s an unorthodox choice to pick AMD for this kind of machine, it’s clear that when Ryzen is given a chance to shine, it can kick a lot of butt."
