The ASUS Vivobook 16 is typically less expensive than the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and offers solid general use performance with good battery life, making it an economical choice for day-to-day tasks and light productivity. It's also somewhat more portable due to being lighter. However, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X, while pricier and heavier with a higher-performance processor and graphics card, is better suited for intensive gaming, 3D work, and engineering applications. The Aorus 15X also features a display with a higher refresh rate and better color coverage, which benefits creative professionals and gamers alike. Consider the Vivobook 16 for budget-friendly, general use and the Aorus 15X if you need high performance for demanding tasks and can manage the additional cost and weight. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 16's screen is suitable for general tasks due to its adequate resolution and brightness, but it's not optimal for professional engineering and design because it covers a limited range of colors. Meanwhile, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X boasts a higher-quality display that renders more accurate colors, making it better for engineering and design applications, yet neither is ideal for gaming or 3D work as they do not have high refresh rates necessary for smooth motion. For general use where color accuracy isn't crucial, both laptops are capable, but the Aorus offers a more vibrant and sharp experience.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Gigabyte Aorus 15X compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
