The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers better battery life and is lighter, making it more suitable for those who prioritize portability and long usage times away from a power source. It also comes with a higher storage capacity out of the box. In contrast, the Gigabyte A7 has a more powerful graphics card and processor, which makes it better for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks, but it has a shorter battery life and is heavier, which can make it less convenient to carry around. Additionally, the Gigabyte A7's screen has a higher refresh rate, beneficial for fast-paced gaming and smoother visuals. Both are similarly priced, so your decision should be based on whether you value performance over portability. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte A7 and ASUS Vivobook 16 are both good for engineering and design, though the Gigabyte A7 is somewhat better.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 is suitable for engineering and design use because of its capable AMD Ryzen CPU and integrated Vega graphics, which provide reliable performance for design software, and its quality IPS screen with a higher resolution and aspect ratio optimized for productivity tasks. On the other hand, the Gigabyte A7 is also suited for these uses thanks to its powerful AMD Ryzen CPU paired with a dedicated Nvidia RTX GPU, which excels in more graphically demanding engineering workloads, together with a larger screen that offers a higher refresh rate, better for detailed visual work.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 has a better screen than the Gigabyte A7 for software development, and content creation, while the Gigabyte A7 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers a display that's sharp and bright enough for day-to-day tasks and some professional work, but it doesn't excel in the color accuracy required for precision engineering and design work. The Gigabyte A7 provides a higher quality display that presents vivid colors and better accuracy, making it suitable for engineers and designers who rely on color fidelity for their projects. However, neither laptop's screen is optimal for gaming or 3D work, as they lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth motion and fast-paced visuals.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Gigabyte A7 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"In terms of looks, the Gigabyte A7 X1 is certainly not a trendy, slim, and ultra-mobile gaming laptop. But it does what it's supposed to do, namely bringing games smoothly onto the screen, very well. Both the processor and the GeForce RTX 3070 are able to unleash their performance without restrictions thanks to the well-ventilated case. The Gigabyte A7 X1 brings modern games smoothly onto the screen and offers excellent maintenance options."
