The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers a larger screen, more storage, and higher RAM, which is well-suited for intensive tasks like engineering, 3D rendering, or machine learning. However, it is more expensive and less portable than the Gateway 11.6". The Gateway is more budget-friendly, lightweight, and thus highly portable but is less powerful and suited for general use rather than demanding tasks. So, if high performance and larger display size are crucial for your work, the ASUS Vivobook 16 would be the better choice, but if you prioritize saving money and a laptop for basic tasks with great portability, the Gateway 11.6" is more appropriate. The ASUS Vivobook 16 is good for general use, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers a more powerful CPU, more RAM, and a higher quality screen, which makes it better suited for multitasking and media consumption compared to the Gateway 11.6" with its modest CPU, limited RAM, and lower resolution screen. While the Vivobook is heavier and could be less portable, the Gateway provides excellent portability due to its lighter weight, despite compromising on battery life and performance that are very important for general use.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers a GPU that is more capable for gaming and 3D applications and a screen with higher resolution and quality than the Gateway 11.6", despite both having similar screen refresh rates; the larger RAM and more advanced CPU of the ASUS further contribute to its better performance in these areas. However, the Gateway is lighter and may be preferred for its portability despite its limitations in gaming and 3D tasks due to a less powerful GPU and CPU, along with lower screen resolution and quality.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 is good for engineering and design, while the Gateway 11.6" is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 is better suited for engineering and design due to its powerful AMD Ryzen processor, ample 16GB of RAM, and dedicated Vega 8 GPU, along with a high-quality IPS screen with higher resolution and color coverage, whereas the Gateway 11.6" has a basic Intel Celeron processor, only 4GB of RAM, integrated graphics, and an IPS screen with lower resolution and color space coverage, making it less capable for demanding tasks and precision work. While the Gateway is more portable due to its smaller size and lower weight, the inferior CPU, GPU, RAM, and screen quality significantly limit its usefulness in engineering and design applications compared to the ASUS Vivobook 16.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 has a better screen than the Gateway 11.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, with a sharper resolution and higher brightness, offers a more pleasant viewing experience for general tasks and is adequate for engineering, but it falls short for gaming where a high refresh rate is crucial. The Gateway 11.6", with limited resolution and low brightness, results in a less clear and less vibrant display across the board, which is particularly detrimental for detailed engineering work and immersion in gaming. Additionally, both lack the advanced color gamuts needed for precision in engineering and design, and neither provides the smooth visuals desired for gaming due to low refresh rates.
