If you prioritize gaming or tasks involving 3D rendering, machine learning, and similar engineering applications, the Dell Alienware x14 R1, with its more powerful dedicated graphics card, would be a better choice. It also has a higher refresh rate display which is beneficial for fast motion visuals, making it suitable for coding, intensive gaming, and graphic design. However, it is more expensive and has less storage space. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 16 is less costly, offers more storage, a larger screen with a higher resolution, and may suffice for general use and less demanding engineering tasks. Although it performs well for general usage, it falls short for gaming or high-end graphics work due to its less capable integrated graphics. Both laptops have similar portability and battery life, but the Alienware's is slightly better. Give Feedback

Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."

NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | March 2022
"The Alienware X14 series is thinner, but also slower than the competition. With the X series, you get plenty of modern technology: Intel Alder Lake CPUs, GeForce RTX 3000 GPUs, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E, G-Sync, and Advanced Optimus. However, the slim design has some drawbacks, just like its larger siblings. The shifted hinge position results in a very deep device with a large footprint compared to the competition."
