The ASUS Vivobook 16, being somewhat less expensive, offers an AMD Ryzen processor with integrated graphics, suitable for everyday tasks and light gaming. However, it has a lower resolution IPS screen with a standard refresh rate and a significant weight that impacts portability. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED boasts a more powerful Intel i9 processor with higher graphics capabilities, ideal for intensive tasks like 3D work, machine learning, or gaming. It also features a higher resolution OLED screen with a faster refresh rate, providing better image quality and smoother visuals, albeit at a higher cost. This model is also lighter, enhancing portability. If you prioritize visual experience and performance over cost and are looking for a more portable device, the Vivobook S 15 OLED is an excellent choice. But if your focus is on getting a functional laptop at a lower price and you don't mind a bit less portability and screen quality, the Vivobook 16 could meet your needs well. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is very good for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook 16 is good.
The ASUS Vivobook 16's AMD Ryzen processor and integrated Vega graphics provide solid performance for engineering applications, but its IPS screen lacks the superior color and contrast of the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED, which also offers higher performance with an Intel i9 processor and Iris Xe graphics, making it better for design where image quality is crucial. Portability-wise, the Vivobook S 15 is lighter and thinner than its 16-inch counterpart, a potential benefit for those who frequently travel with their device.

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 16, with its fair screen qualifications, offers adequate panel type, resolution, and brightness that meet the needs for general tasks and engineering work but falls short for gaming and 3D due to a low refresh rate. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED excels in delivering vibrant colors and sharp images for both general and engineering use because of its high-quality OLED display with wide color gamuts, but it still isn't ideal for gaming and 3D, where its refresh rate isn't high enough to ensure smooth motion. While both laptops cater well to everyday and professional creativity tasks, avid gamers and those into 3D rendering should look elsewhere, primarily due to the screens' limited refresh rates that can't produce the fluid visuals these activities often require.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 offers a solid general-use experience with a large 16-inch screen, ample RAM, and a capable AMD Ryzen processor which, in conjunction with its sizable battery, balances performance with battery life; however, its portability is less impressive due to its weight and size. Alternatively, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED shines with its superior screen quality featuring an OLED panel, higher resolution, and better color accuracy, alongside a top-tier Intel processor and a lighter build for easier portability, but this does come at the expense of slightly reduced battery life compared to the Vivobook 16.

"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it.
