Choosing between the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the Vivobook 17 will largely depend on what's important to you. If you are looking for better portability, the Vivobook 16 is lighter and slightly smaller, which may be convenient for travel. It also offers a higher resolution screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is great for productivity tasks, and it generally has better performance for general use and engineering applications. However, the Vivobook 17 has a larger screen, which could enhance your experience if you prioritize screen real estate and it has a longer battery life. If budget is a concern, the Vivobook 17 is less expensive but comes with less storage and memory, and its performance is more suited to basic tasks rather than intensive applications. Both laptops have a similar build quality and port selection, including USB-C charging, but neither is suitable for intensive gaming. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 17 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Vivobook 16 and 17 with their fair screen quality provide sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing, office applications, and video streaming but may lack the high resolution and color accuracy that more specialized tasks require. For engineering and design, the display's color reproduction may fall short for professionals needing precise color gamuts like DCI-P3 or Adobe RGB for tasks such as photo editing or CAD work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the screens of both laptops may disappoint due to lower refresh rates, which are crucial for smooth motion, and their resolution and panel type may not deliver the sharpness and viewing experience desired by enthusiasts.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16 and the ASUS Vivobook 17 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, Yannick Khong | May 2023
"The ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 (2023) is a budget Windows laptop. It's available with various AMD Ryzen 5000 and 7000 U-series CPUs and integrated graphics. You can only get 8GB of RAM; however, there's an empty SO-DIMM slot if you want to upgrade it. It has an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10 IPS display, a full-size keyboard with a Numpad, a 720p webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Ports include three USB-As, one USB-C, an HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB-C supports charging but no video output."
"The ASUS Vivobook 17 is an affordable 17-inch laptop with passive cooling. On one hand, you get a really quiet and cool work device with a good system performance, many connections, good maintenance options, speakers acceptable for multimedia enjoyment, and a sharp and clear matte FHD IPS display with the Asus VivoBook 17 (F712JA). On the other hand, the USB-C port lacks Power Delivery and DisplayPort, and the display, a higher brightness and better color space coverage."
