The ASUS Vivobook 15X is generally more expensive but offers better performance for intensive tasks like engineering and 3D rendering, thanks to a slightly more powerful main processor. It comes with more storage and a larger 15.6-inch screen, which makes it a better choice for general use and entertainment, but this also makes it less portable than the HP 14" Laptop. On the other hand, the HP is more budget-friendly, lighter, and has a slightly better battery life, making it more suitable for everyday use and carrying around. Neither laptop is particularly well-suited for intensive gaming. If portability and price are crucial, consider the HP; if you need stronger performance and a larger screen, the ASUS might be the better option. Give Feedback

The HP 14" Laptop has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15X for engineering and design.
The ASUS Vivobook 15X and HP 14" Laptop have fair screen quality for general use because they offer adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like web browsing and document editing, but they might lack the vibrancy and clarity of higher-end displays. For engineering and design purposes, their fair quality stems from providing acceptable color representation, but they don't cover professional-grade color gamuts as extensively as premium laptops designed for color-critical work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, both models fall short due to lower refresh rates, which leads to less smooth visuals, although they manage basic functions well enough for casual use.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers ASUS Vivobook 15X to be good for general use, while the HP 14" Laptop is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 15X offers a slightly larger screen and a newer CPU model, providing a modest boost in general performance, but with comparable portability and only decent speakers and keyboard quality. The HP 14" Laptop, while more portable due to its smaller size and lighter weight, has a slightly older CPU and less storage, but it benefits from better portability and superior heat management, along with slightly better screen quality despite its smaller display. Both laptops have fair battery life and RAM, making them suitable for general use but may struggle with more intensive tasks.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers ASUS Vivobook 15X to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the HP 14" Laptop is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 15X and the HP 14" Laptop both have an integrated AMD Ryzen GPU, which is decent for light gaming and 3D applications but not optimal for demanding games and 3D tasks due to their moderate performance. Additionally, with screen refresh rates limited to 60Hz, neither is ideal for fast-paced gaming where higher refresh rates can provide a smoother experience, although both have IPS displays which offer good screen quality for general use.

The ASUS Vivobook 15X and HP 14" Laptop are both only fair for engineering and design.
The ASUS Vivobook 15X offers fair performance for engineering and design due to its adequate CPU and GPU capabilities, suitable for moderate tasks but with limited expandability in RAM and storage, which could hinder more intensive applications; its IPS screen provides decent color coverage and resolution for accurate visual work, though portability is average due to its size and weight. In contrast, the HP 14" Laptop, while slightly more portable owing to its smaller size and lighter weight, similarly offers fair performance with its competent CPU and GPU, adequate screen quality for design accuracy, and limited options to expand RAM and storage, potentially constraining more complex engineering tasks.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15X and the HP 14" Laptop compare to other laptops
"All in all, my day on the Vivobook had its ups and downs. It is a really pretty and well-built device, and it had all of the functionality I needed to get me through my browser-based workload. But the speakers weren’t my favorite, and the battery life was just too short."
"This feels like an ideal laptop for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a laptop and isn’t too bothered by things like build quality or construction. It’s a laptop that will be used to pay bills, keep track of expenses, do some online shopping, and will be tucked away in a spare bedroom/home office. It’s an appliance designed to do a job without fuss. It’s not a premium experience—the materials do feel a little cheap, the display won’t exactly wow you, and the battery life is nothing to write home about, especially if you’ve used more expensive devices. But overall it’s not too shabby, especially for the price."
