The ASUS Vivobook 15 is a budget-friendly option with a decent performance for everyday tasks and a good battery life, making it a solid choice for general use on the go. Its screen is adequate for typical applications, though it lacks touch capability and has a standard refresh rate. It's also lightweight and slim, enhancing its portability. However, it may struggle with more demanding tasks like gaming or intensive engineering work due to its less powerful processor and integrated graphics.
On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 15" is a more premium device with a higher price tag, reflecting its superior performance, especially in demanding applications like gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, thanks to its more powerful CPU and dedicated GPU. The display is exceptional, with high resolution, touchscreen capability, and a higher refresh rate, which is great for fast-moving visuals and detailed graphics. It also offers a better build quality, a more comfortable keyboard, and a more comprehensive set of features, including facial recognition for added security. However, these benefits come at the cost of portability; it's slightly heavier and has a shorter battery life compared to the ASUS.
In summary, if you prioritize portability, battery life, and budget, the ASUS Vivobook 15 is the way to go. But if you need a laptop that can handle more intensive tasks and you're willing to compromise a bit on portability and cost, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 15" would be the better choice. "The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
