The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 is positioned as a midrange laptop that excels in gaming and performance-intensive tasks thanks to its AMD Ryzen 9 processor and Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics card. Its 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage should be sufficient for most users. The 15.6-inch display offers a high-quality IPS panel with a sharp 2560 x 1440 resolution and a fast 165Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for both detailed work and fast-paced gaming, though it isn't touchscreen-equipped. With a high battery capacity, it promises long usage times, but the trade-off is a weight that is less favorable for frequent travel. It has an excellent keyboard, several USB-C ports, and supports Ethernet and USB-C charging. It doesn't have a webcam which can be a significant drawback for remote work or video conferencing needs. Launched in May 2021, with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, it also features a backlit keyboard, a fingerprint reader, and is optimized with hardware ray tracing and DLSS for gaming. The Zephyrus G15 also offers good heat management and build quality, making it a durable choice. It's a laptop that seems to meet the needs of gamers or professionals in fields such as engineering and 3D rendering but is less portable and may not suit those who need a light machine for everyday carry or who rely on built-in webcams. Florian Glaser | February 2021
"As long as you're aware of the fact that the GeForce RTX 3080 laptop version can only unfold its potential to a limited extent due to Asus's low TDP setting and that it can be slower than a fast RTX 3070 laptop, the ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503Q cuts a fine figure. One of the biggest highlights turns out to be the WQHD panel, since it attracts customers with 165 Hz, relatively fast response times, FreeSync, and good color-space coverage. Other selling points are the surprisingly rich sound, the long battery life, and the sleek design. In terms of looks, the white edition stands out nicely from the competition."
