It has an Apple M2 main processor and GPU, offering balanced performance for everyday tasks and lighter creative work. With a 13.6-inch IPS display, it provides good color accuracy and viewing angles, but it doesn't have touch capability. Its battery capacity allows for up to 15 hours of typical usage, and at 2.7 pounds and 0.44 inches thick, it is highly portable. The MacBook Air has two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt support and charges via USB-C, but it lacks HDMI and Ethernet ports, meaning you might need adapters for certain connections. It comes with macOS pre-installed and has a high-quality backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader but no number pad. It's engineered for silent operation, with no fan noise. Its build and speaker quality are rated best, while 3D and machine learning performance is fair, indicating it's not ideal for intensive gaming or heavy engineering software. Give Feedback

Gaming & AI:
3.6
The MacBook Air (2022) is considered fair for 3D due to its Apple M2 chip with an 8-core GPU, which is capable but not as powerful as dedicated gaming or workstation GPUs, limiting its ability to handle complex 3D tasks efficiently. Moreover, its screen refresh rate is the standard 60Hz, which is fine for general use but less optimal for the smooth visuals preferred in high-end 3D applications and gaming.

NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | July 2022
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
