The Acer Aspire 3 15 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 for software development, and content creation.
When choosing between the Acer Aspire 3 and the ASUS Vivobook Go, both have screens that provide adequate clarity and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, but neither excels for specialized usage. For engineering and design, professionals may find the color accuracy lacking, as these laptops may not cover wider color gamuts necessary for precise work. While for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on these laptops can result in less fluid motion, and the display quality may not be as sharp as that offered by higher-end laptops designed specifically for those purposes.

The Acer Aspire 3 15 offers a fair balance for general use, incorporating a solid processor and sufficient RAM for common tasks, a full HD IPS display for decent screen quality, a reasonable battery life and ports for connectivity, alongside a spacious keyboard and silent operation which enhances user comfort, while its heavier build and larger size slightly reduce its portability. In contrast, the ASUS Vivobook Go 14, with similar CPU power, RAM, and an equally satisfactory screen, boasts lighter weight and better portability, making it more convenient for on-the-go usage, at the expense of having less diverse connectivity options and a smaller screen which some users might find less ideal for multitasking or detailed work.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The lack of a backlit keyboard in this price segment shouldn't sway the buyer the other way. However, it still comes down to user preference. The Vivobook Go 14 is a decent laptop in an extremely competitive price segment. A few omissions are a part of the balancing to reach the price segment. The Asus Vivobook Go 14 is a rare find when it comes to the price to performance ratio."
