The "Nothing" Brand Ear Stick is an earbud with a stemmed form and an open enclosure that's designed to be wireless. With a sound quality that's considered very good, they also have a specially noted microphone quality, making them ideal for calls and meetings. They offer customization through an app and support low latency mode, which is useful for gaming and video. The Ear Stick is sweatproof, dustproof, and offers a comfortable fit, but note that they are not recommended for use during exercise or for air travel as they're not the best at noise isolation. They're optimally designed to work with both Android and Apple devices, featuring ear detection and providing up to 5 hours of battery life plus an additional 22 hours with the case, which does not support wireless charging. Their compact size and light weight make them portable, though not as suitable for noisy environments. If you're looking for earbuds suited for everyday use with a focus on call clarity and good build quality, these might be a fit, but they wouldn't be the best choice for users who need strong noise cancellation or require a secure fit for intensive workouts. Ratings by Category

Calls:
4.6
This evaluates the product when used solely to make and receive calls. It takes into account how well the products are able to clearly reproduce the human voice, the quality of the integrated microphones and the battery life, when available, to be able to use them for longer sessions or conferences.
Gaming:
4.5
This score evaluates the product when used to play videogames. It takes into account wireless latency - the perceived delay between the action on screen and the sounds playing in your ears. The score also considers soundstage quality, whether they have a virtual surround feature, and overall comfort. Finally, the gaming score takes into account microphone quality for in-game voice chat. It’s important to note that the device paired with the earbuds heavily influences their performance in regards to latency or delay.
Podcasts & Audiobooks:
4.5
This score evaluates the product when used solely to listen to podcasts or audiobooks. It takes into account sound quality and sound signature, to be able to keep voices clear and intelligible. It also considers battery life, when available, and comfort.
TV & Video:
4.2
The "Nothing" Brand Ear Stick is praised for its very good overall sound quality, making it suitable for a satisfying auditory experience when watching TV and videos. Additionally, it includes a low latency mode that minimizes audio delay, ensuring that the sound is well-synced with the on-screen action.
Exercise:
4.0
This score evaluates the product when used for exercise and physical activity. It mainly takes into account comfort, whether or not the products are sweatproof and how secure are the earbuds or headphones while wearing them. We also consider products with wireless capabilities to be more suitable for this particular scenario
Battery Life:
4.0
The Battery Life rating is based on hours of typical, actual usage.
Portability:
3.5
The Portability score is based on an overall assessment that includes volume and maximum dimension of the product (and case, if relevant), and its weight. Special features like foldability for headphones are also taken into account.
Music:
3.2
The "Nothing" Brand Ear Stick offers a very good overall sound quality which suggests decent audio reproduction, but the fair score in soundstage and imaging may limit the perception of width and depth in the music, potentially affecting the feeling of being "inside" the music for more discerning listeners. Additionally, the open enclosure type typically provides a more natural sound but can let in ambient noise, which might be an issue in noisy environments.

Sound Guys

Jasper Lastoria | December 2022
"If the Ear (stick) fits your ears, its light weight means you can easily wear it until the unimpressive battery life totally drains. The IP54 rating of the buds lends some confidence that it’ll survive some light abuse too. Finally, for the person who only wears earbuds at their desk, the Nothing Ear (stick) with its decent microphone could offer a reasonable Zoom meeting solution."
